I’d really like to be able to work from home. Is it possible to make a career change and sucessfully support myself with internet marketing? How do I start? I’ve completed some college, but did not graduate.
In my opinion, the best way to learn about internet marketing is to just do it.Try building a website and driving traffic to it. Try creating some online ads on Google Adwords or LaunchBit. Follow top blogs on internet marketing and read as much as you can. Sign up for marketing newsletters and tips. You can also open up an affiliate account on Commission Junction and practice making affiliate sales.
Have you done an internet search to see what type of “internet marketing” jobs are out there?
This will give you an idea of what employers are looking for and the locations of these jobs. I do want to caution you about “scams” – it seems that a lot of the job sites do not care what jobs are posted as long as they get their cash.
I would also suggest you locate someone that is already doing “internet marketing” to see how they did and if they have any tips to pass your way. It also helps to know the “pros and cons” of any job change as what we see or read about is not always the true picture of a job.
In ending, what helped me in my own career change was reading The Pathfinder by Nicholas Lore last year. Wished I had read it several years ago – would have save me wasted years in jobs from hell or being fired from jobs that did not fit me. Even in today’s recession it is possible to pursue a career change – just make sure you have a “backup” income source while you set things in motion.
Thank you for stopping by and sharing with us and I hope you will let us know what you decided to do. Remember, never give up on bettering your life!!!
I would say you have made a good choice by opting internet marketing as a career field. you need to spend 5 month in your room , connect your computer with internet and read all about it. after 5 month you will be an expert who knows somethngs..
Study the SEO and SEM techniques. If possible do a short 6 month course. It is a high paying industry if you remain in their for around an year and are technically updated.
