My biggest problem that I run to is getting sufficient traffic. It’s hard nowadays to get into a niche or any field that has no competitors. Almost every niche has several other players in it, and with the amount of information out there more and more people jump on the IM train everyday. I have to say though, hiring freelancers from odesk and the sort is one of the biggest advantages of this industry.
People misusing language; calling my business a journey for instance.
I would advise that each and every day you set a goal to do something to promote your site, regardless of how little that is. Find products/services to promote that you believe in, and you will be more likely to devote your energy into promoting through article writing and on-page SEO. Be sure that you select markets/products that you can compete in. Unmanageable competition is a killer. Find forums to comment on where you can be an authority, and leave links to your site. You have to be able to attract free search traffic to win.
